Maybe we're all reading into everything Cristiano Ronaldo is doing because he's an unbelievable talent and he's doing amazing things at the 2018 World Cup.

Or he just knows that the world's eyes are on him and he's having fun with us.

Check out Ronaldo's look as he began Wednesday with a match against Morocco:

Why is that significant? Remember what his celebration was after the first goal he scored against Spain? He stroked his chin and everyone assumed he was calling himself the GOAT:

As far as I can tell, Ronaldo's facial hair wasn't as prominent then. So maybe he's making a GOAT statement?
