Is Lillard hinting he wants out of Portland?


It's probably dangerous to read into Twitter tea leaves during the NBA offseason, but here we are.

People are in a bit of a frenzy thanks to this Damian Lillard reply to a question about whether he'd be happy if he were dealt to the Los Angeles Lakers to join LeBron James:

Why is that blowing up the NBA world? It's because he didn't ignore the question in the first place or give a vanilla answer that he was happy to be part of the Portland Trail Blazers.

Lillard did say this about the speculation over that tweet:

Back on June 30, right before free agency began, he also dropped this cryptic tweet, which people seemed to take as a goodbye:

And even earlier than that, a tweet that might be seen as a warning:

Are we all reading too much into these tweets? Is Lillard just messing with us? Would an NBA player really push for a trade so publicly? Hm.
