LaMelo cut hair after Lonzo and LaVar's $800 offer
LaMelo Ball had sported the same hairstyle for several years. As he broke out as one of the more popular high school basketball players, his actual hairstyle gained notoriety with him.
For a family that is so much about branding, LaMelo's look was part of his brand. Which was why it was surprising to see LaMelo do away with the hairstyle upon returning from Lithuania.
The latest episode of Ball in the Family gave viewers a glimpse at what drew the youngest Ball brother into cutting his hair. It all started with some pressure from Lonzo Ball, and when LaVar joined in, it was game over. The sequence starts at the 12:30 mark.
Lonzo offered to pay LaMelo $100, and when LaMelo countered with $500 (turned down), LaVar was willing to add $700 to Lonzo's offer.
It was begrudgingly accepted.
Lonzo thought it was time for LaMelo to hit that "reset button" after leaving Lithuania for the JBA league. LaMelo, though, insisted that he was forced into cutting his hair. Either way, it will grow back eventually.
