Breaking down Garcia's shot out of water
Ah, the burn at Carnoustie. You knew someone would hit it in there on Thursday.
That someone is Sergio Garcia, but he recovered so beautifully that we had to break it down.
1. Garcia hit a drive over 400 yards. That's the notable thing here and something that was bound to happen on the baked course. That was on No. 10, a par-4 hole that's 471 yards long.
2. The Spaniard decided to hit out of the burn, which was as risky as it gets.
3. The guy had to not hit the wall behind him with his backswing. He didn't.
4. He had to hit the ball up in the air to avoid the tall wall in front of him. He didn't!
5. He ended up with a bogey on the hole, but whatever. That seems like a miracle here.
