LiAngelo Ball takes 54 shots in JBA game

LiAngelo Ball, the NBA hopeful who once said he wouldn't play in his dad's Junior Basketball Association because it'd be a "step back" for his career, started his second career JBA game Thursday and wouldn't stop shooting the ball.

LiAngelo Ball played 48 minutes and took 54 shots, finishing the game with 48 points. Cowboys star Ezekiel Elliott was in attendance at the Curtis Culwell Center and watched from courtside.

LiAngelo, who had a 53-point triple-double in his JBA debut, wasn't exactly efficient offensively. He took 24 threes and made five, shooting 20.4 percent beyond the arc, and he wasn't much better at shorter ranges. He was 19 for 54 shooting for the game, and nearly posted another triple-double with 16 rebounds and eight assists, according to the box score.

16-year-old LaMelo Ball also put up 48 points for the Los Angeles Ballers, shooting a respectable 51 percent from the field, including 7-of-18 from three. The youngest Ball also racked up 24 rebounds and 14 assists to complete an eye-popping triple-double.

Jacking up an extreme amount of threes in a league that doesn't play defense might not be the best thing for LiAngelo's professional prospects, but he's still confident there will be a spot on the Lakers' roster for him in the future.
