Indians minor league team retired LeBron's number

LeBron James, as you may have noticed, is not a professional baseball player (Sprite commercial aside). He is from Akron, though.

And while LeBron has moved on from Cleveland to the Los Angeles Lakers, his hometown Akron RubberDucks (what a name) celebrated the former Cavs star before their game on Monday.

The Indians' Double-A affiliate officially retired James' No. 23 in a somewhat muted ceremony.

The RubberDucks offered fans wearing LeBron gear $5 tickets along with donating $1 for every walk-up ticket sold to the LeBron James Family Foundation. It was all for a good cause.

There was even some crazy-looking burger called the GOAT.

But this all could have made for an awkward night for pitcher David Speer. He wore No. 23 for Akron. That number is about to change.
