Turner threw a tantrum instead of running to first

Trea Turner wasn't particularly pleased with how his two-out bunt worked out during the fourth inning of Monday's game in Milwaukee.

Trying to bunt for a hit, Turner's attempt took a soft bounce right to Jhoulys Chacin. The ball was in play, but Turner didn't run.

Instead, he slammed his helmet out of disgust and headed towards the dugout down the third-base line all while the ball was, again, STILL IN PLAY. The Nationals broadcast was in disbelief over Turner's lack of effort.

Even better: They aired a Trea Turner "run the bases" promotion during the commercial break.

Well played.

And sure, Turner's bunt wasn't great, but by running to first base, he still would have put pressure on Chacin to make a play. We've seen apparent routine plays turn into game-changing errors, and this was a tied ball game.

By deciding to slam his helmet, Turner effectively gave up on the play.

Turner wasn't pulled from the game, though.
