England soccer player scored the weirdest goal
England cruised past Mexico over the weekend at the Women's U-20 World Cup, putting up a 6-1 scoreline. Manchester City's Lauren Hemp scored a hat trick, and one of her goals left soccer fans in awe.
Hemp tried to make a move past the Mexico goalkeeper in the box, which led to a collision. Hemp fell to the pitch and landed on top of the ball. She somehow managed to score a very weird goal in the process.
The ball was wedged between her hip and the ground, and the impact basically propelled the ball towards goal.
Hey, it counts.
Hemp took to Twitter after the match to let the world know she meant to do that.
Sounds about right.
The win gave England the top spot in Group B.
