McCollum explains 'disgusting' superteam remarks

Blazers guard C.J. McCollum clashed with Kevin Durant in a podcast and on Twitter about the two-time NBA Finals MVP's move to join the Golden State Warriors. McCollum thought that Durant's move was soft at the time, and earlier this summer, he took aim at superteams in another pointed interview.

McCollum appeared on CCTV while touring China. He's been training in New York for the past few weeks, so the interview was old. But users on Reddit uncovered the comments Wednesday, which had the NBA guard offering an explanation for calling superteams "disgusting."

This was what McCollum said to CCTV:

McCollum said:

"I would never do anything of that nature. I think that it's disgusting. No. It's disgusting."

He continued:

"I would never do that. I'm not built like those guys. I was raised differently … I think some players will take that route. But most guys have too much pride, want to really win on their own."

While his comments went unnoticed stateside for a couple months, McCollum didn't exactly get away with it. And he wasn't pleased that the remarks just now started to blow up. He took to Twitter and offered his response.

McCollum also claimed that the video didn't provide the full context of his remarks.

He's also trying, Jennifer.
