Stephen A. Smith's motivational speech to Syracuse
Before you ask yourself why Syracuse football invited ESPN talking head Stephen A. Smith for a motivational speech, watch an excerpt from what he said:
"That's what grinding is all about. It's about never being satisfied, understanding that if you're standing still or going backwards, you ain't living. That's what winners are made of. And the beauty about you is you got your whole life ahead of you. The stuff I'm saying to you right now is applicable to any walk of life that you walk into. I don't play football, I would never dream of playing football, I don't want anyone hitting me. But I take that mentality with me everywhere I go."
You know what? That's pretty great. I'm fired up for a Monday morning. Watch the whole thing - which includes the phrase "monopoly on greatness" - and you might feel the same way.
