Young fan turns ceremonial kickoff into epic goal
As is customary during some soccer matches, a fan is invited to the pitch for a ceremonial kickoff. He or she is supposed to kick the ball once and leave it at that. Those simple rules were not going to fly with one young Marseille fan on Sunday.
Ahead of the French Ligue 1 match against Rennes, a Marseille fan went rogue on the ceremonial kickoff and took the ball the length of the pitch for an attempt on goal.
The kid was only supposed to make that simple pass at midfield, which would have been objectively way less fun than scoring a goal. Props to the young fan for making the most of that opportunity. You can't pass up the chance to score a goal against Ligue 1 competition.
Also, his celebration game was on point.
