Watch the fastest lap in Formula 1 history
Juan Pablo Montoya's 14-year-old Formula 1 speed record was broken on Saturday in qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix, as Kimi Raikkonen took pole position with the fastest lap in F1 history.
In front of Ferrari's home fans at Monza, the 2009 World Champion edged out teammate Sebastian Vettel with a time of 1:19.119, at an average speed of 163.785 miles per hour, beating Montoya's average of 162.95 mph.
Raikkonen and Vettel will start first and second in Sunday's race, ahead of Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. Finnish commentators lost their minds when the Iceman snatched the pole away from Vettel at the line.
The Italian Grand Prix will begin Sunday at 9:00 a.m. ET on ESPN2.
