LSU mocked Miami's Turnover Chain with towel

As the Miami Hurricanes defense thrived on forcing turnovers in 2017, the awarding of the "Turnover Chain" made for an electric scene on the sidelines with each takeaway.

The Turnover Chain is back for 2018, but it remained sealed away for the first half. LSU, though, would break out its own take on the Miami tradition:

Meet the Turnover Towel.

When LSU broke the game open in the first half with a 45-yard interception return for a touchdown, the Tigers' Jacob Phillips donned a towel as if it was the Miami chain on the sideline.

Who needs a 10-karat-gold chain with sapphires when you can use a towel instead? It's way more economical.

LSU would take a 27-3 lead into the locker room at halftime.
