Kevin Love reveals heartfelt text he sent LeBron
LeBron James' move to the Los Angeles Lakers changed the entire outlook of the NBA. The Cavaliers instantly went from a title contender in the East to a team in a rebuild. Kevin Love will be a major part of those rebuilding efforts.
But there was no hard feelings about LeBron's move to Los Angeles - not even close.
This week, Love appeared on ESPN's Get Up! and broke down how he reacted to LeBron's signing with the Lakers. Upon hearing the news, he immediately sent LeBron a heartfelt text of support.
Love said:
"Well, I thought LeBron's always looking for a new challenge. He's always looking for a new opportunity. And with what he's doing on the court and off the court, I think he wanted to see how he can impact another team, and LA was the right fit for him. But I didn't really know it until - I kind of had a feel for it towards I would say free agency. But I actually got the news when I was in New York, looked at my phone and though, 'OK, well, he's off to the Lakers.' I mentioned that I wished him the best. I texted him, told him I loved him. And then we go from there."
LeBron was also present to celebrate Love's 30th birthday.
Love signed a four-year extension with the Cavaliers back in July.
