NFL fans rip Clay Matthews' embarrassing missed tackle

At 32 years old, Clay Matthews isn't the player he used to be. His performance has declined over the past few seasons, but 2018 particularly hasn't been kind to the five-time Pro Bowler.

Monday's game against the 49ers was no exception.

During a third-quarter drive, C.J. Beathard connected on a short pass to Pierre Garcon that should have been stopped immediately. Matthews just didn't even make a real attempt to tackle Garcon. He whiffed on the 49ers receiver in the open field.

This effort was embarrassing.

NFL fans took notice to the play, and they weren't kind to the Packers linebacker.

But hey, Matthews did record his first full sack of the season on Monday, so there was that.
