Cleveland's replacement for LeBron banner is worse than mockup

When LeBron James announced his move to the Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland waited little time to take down its most photographed landmark:

The LeBron James banner.

Still, the Cleveland didn't want the Sherwin Williams building to be without a banner, so the Cavaliers settled on a fan-inspired design rather than a different sports icon. In September, the Cavs released a mockup of the new banner, which was supposed to have a photo mosaic make up one of the Guardians of Traffic from the nearby Hope Memorial Bridge.

The mockup was promptly roasted on Twitter. On Wednesday, the replacement banner was completed, and it somehow looked worse.

For one, the fan-submitted mosaic doesn't really make itself apparent in the actual version. It was a major downgrade from the LeBron banner, and Cleveland fans continued to mock it on Twitter.

The Cavs open their season tonight in Toronto. There's still time to change the banner, Cleveland.
