Portland Trail Blazers pay sweet tribute to Paul Allen


The Portland Trail Blazers open the season Thursday with heavy hearts, as it's the first regular-season opener since the passing of their owner, Paul Allen, who died last Monday at the age of 65.

The team paid a nice tribute to Allen by placing a "Rip City" hat and rose on his his court-side seat:

Allen, the Microsoft co-founder who also owned the Seattle Seahawks and had a stake in the Seattle Sounders, bought the Trail Blazers in 1988 and was a fixture at games rooting on a number of powerhouse Portland teams.

He will be missed.
