Eli Apple: ESPN's Adam Schefter had fans thinking Eli Manning was traded
The New York Giants traded an Eli. It just wasn't Eli Manning.
Cornerback Eli Apple was sent to the Saints on Tuesday, and ESPN's Adam Schefter had to play into the Eli Manning drama.
After first accurately reporting the details of the Eli Apple trade, Schefter sent out a vague tweet that definitely had NFL fans fooled.
NFL fans had some words for the ESPN reporter - most were good sports.
It would have worked better if Schefter led with the teaser tweet, but he got plenty of takers. It was a solid effort.
