Buddy Hield, Kings coach engage in bizarre beef at end of Warriors game

In a bizarre incident in the Kings - Warriors game on Thursday night, Kings coach Dave Joerger appeared visibly upset after Buddy Hield took and made a long 3-pointer with the Kings down 6 and with just 20 seconds to play.

After he made the 3, Kings coach Dave Joerger appeared visibly upset with him. People online wondered why he was upbraiding Hield, as Hield had just made an important basket his team needed. Was he upset that Hield had settled for a long 3, even though it went in? Or was there something else going on.

As Joerger was going at Hield and yelling at him, the Warriors' Kevin Durant went over to join the conversation, and seemed just as perplexed that Joerger was yelling at Hield, shaking his head at the interaction.

Hield then went down the court and hit another 3, this time going back to the bench and appearing to yell at his coach.

But it was all for not. Just moments later the Kings had an opportunity to win the game when Hield had yet another open look for a deep 3-pointer, but apparently Joerger had gotten in his head, or something, as he passed up the look and drove the ball into traffic. He didn't convert and the Kings lost, 125-123.

After the game, Hield wouldn't blame Joerger for getting in his head, instead saying that he should have pulled up and shot.

But plenty of other people blamed Joerger, including the Portland Trail Blazers' Damian Lillard, who was apparently watching the game.

Again: It's unclear if Joerger yelled at Hield for taking the long 3 or something else. Before all of this went down, Hield appeared to lose his man on defense in a situation where the Kings had to foul, and that might have been the cause of his ire.

In any event, it was a strange end to the game. Don't yell at dudes making sweet buckets is our coaching philosophy.
