The Bears (and other teams) should copy the Jaguars

This is the Morning Win, by Andy Nesbitt.

If you've ever read any of my work then you know I'm not the biggest Urban Meyer fan.

I think he's made some horrible decisions since taking over the Jaguars, including bringing Tim Tebow on board for a few months.

But Meyer finally did a good thing yesterday when he announced that Trevor Lawrence would be the starting QB in Week 1. It wasn't a stunner of a decision, of course, as Gardner Minshew certainly hasn't done anything in the preseason to take that No. 1 job, but it was the right thing for Meyer to do because now his team knows who its leader is heading into the season.

Now it's time for Matt Nagy and the Bears to learn something from Meyer and fix their awkward QB situation and just name Justin Fields the starter already.

I mean, what are they waiting for? You drafted the rookie to be your franchise QB and it's time to throw him in the fire and show your team that this kid is going to be the leader and this kid is going to be the future and that future starts now.

I mean no disrespect to Andy Dalton, who is likely going to be Chicago's starter in Week 1, but the longer Dalton remains the top guy the longer fans are going to go nuts in Chicago and things could get away from Nagy and the Bears in a hurry.

NFL teams should just go all in on their first-round QBs (I'm also looking at you, Jets, 49ers and Patriots), give them the keys and let them take off running. It's really the only way they're going to grow into being either something really good, or something really bad but the faster you know what you have the better your franchise will be.

It's time, Chicago. And New York. And San Francisco. And New England. Follow the Jags! (Which is something I never thought I'd say.)

- Dodgers pitcher Blake Trienen threw pitches with so much movement that they looked like wiffle balls. Seriously, you need to see this madness.

- It looks like Rachel Nichols' time at ESPN is coming to an end as the network has decided to take her off the air.

- MLB fans roasted Javy Baez for his incredibly bad swing against the Giants.

- NFL fans were rightfully in awe of this wild 3-minute drone tour through the Cowboys' facility.
