When you have Charles Barkley as a part of the Turner networks, there's no doubt you should use him everywhere aside from his always-entertaining role with Inside the NBA.

So of course he appeared on TNT's NHL coverage Wednesday night and delivered as always.

The Hall of Famer - in basketball, not hockey, obviously - joined Wayne Gretzky and Co., donning goalie pads and taking shots from The Great One. It's also a reminder that Barkley is a big hockey fan. He even bets on the NHL.

There were a few other great moments, so let's round 'em up and hope we see Barkley guest-star again:

NHL SEASON PREDICTIONS: Will Lightning three-peat? Experts mixed on Stanley Cup winner

1. He took shots from Gretzky

Seriously, this needs to be every intermission, right? And he somehow made a save.

2. 'Did you lose to a guy with a perm?'

TV gold.

3. Let's not forget he's a hockey fan

Which means we need Barkley on this show a lot more often. Can he just move between TNT sets twice in one night?

4. He had to learn how to hold a goalie stick and what the five hole was

This is the best. I love that he asked advice of ex-netminder Darren Pang.
