Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes does not lose very often, but he's already shown to be incredibly gracious in defeat. He proved that once again on Sunday.

The Chiefs saw an 18-point lead evaporate and eventually fell in overtime during Sunday's AFC Championship Game loss to the Bengals. And for Mahomes, he took blame for the loss after the offense could only muster three points in the second half – a last-second field goal to tie. Mahomes' interception in overtime ultimately set up the Bengals' winning drive.

So, in the heat of the moment, it would have been totally understandable for a demoralized Mahomes to head to the locker room as quickly as possible. He didn't do that, though. He found Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and offered some words of encouragement.

NFL Films released mic’d-up footage of the postgame handshake between Burrow and Mahomes.

We could hear Mahomes greet Burrow and say, “Way to play, man. Go win it all.”
