PGA Tour's Lee Hodges uses putter to get out of bunker, and it goes horribly wrong

Lee Hodges hit his tee shot on the par-3 15th hole at PGA National on Sunday into the bunker behind the green. Lots of golfers found themselves in there over the past four days of the Honda Classic, so nothing about it seemed out of the ordinary.

But what he did next was absolutely unordinary - he grabbed his putter from his bag and hit his ball out of the trap.

He didn't have a ton of green to work with and he was well back in the bunker … but using a putter?

So, how'd it go for him?

Not well.

Hodges dropped two strokes on the hole and fell out of the top 10.
