The New York Yankees kicked off their 2022 season with a 6-5 win at home over the Boston Red Sox in 11 innings.
Gerrit Cole got the start for New York and things didn't go well for him early on. He walked the first batter of the game, Enrique Hernandez, on four pitches, and then gave up a two-run home run to Rafael Devers two pitches later.
Cole gave up three runs in the first and was taken out after four innings.
Before the game began, he was seen being very upset over the pregame ceremonies going a little bit long. After the game, he admitted that he was, indeed, not happy about how the game started four minutes later than it was supposed to.

And yes, he really was upset over the slight delay:
