Normally when the Mets play on locally-broadcasted SNY, Gary Cohen diagrams all the regular season action. On Thursday night, with Jacob deGrom and New York taking on the Rockies at home, someone else took over the lead mic for a little while.

Eddie Kraus, 12, won the 2022 SNY Kidcaster Contest. His prize? Sitting in the booth with Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling to help with play-by-play during the bottom of the second inning of the matchup.

And folks — while looking sharp in a suit with an orange and blue tie — he absolutely NAILED it when calling a hit by Pete Alonso:

The young man didn't miss a beat at all. And he's only 12? We very well might hear from Mr. Kraus in the future.
