Chris Paul deserved so much better from the Suns

Chris Paul knows that the NBA is a business, as is every professional sport.

He knows that at any time, a franchise can go from making a player its centerpiece to trading or releasing the star in a snap.

But he deserved better than what he got with the trade that sent him to the rebuilding Washington Wizards in the awful deal for Bradley Beal. On Monday, while appearing on Good Morning America, he made it pretty clear he was surprised by the trade - finding out about it while flying to New York - and that he wasn't too pleased about it.

What's more: He found out about it from his son, per the New York Times, and although he reiterated what I said above - "Seriously, it is part of the business, and what you realize is that no one owes you anything. No matter how you are with them or what you do, you realize that in this business, nobody owes you anything, as it should be." - a legend like CP3 deserves to know that he's going to be dealt, especially when it's to a team that will likely (hopefully!) reroute the ring-less all-timer to a contender.

C'mon, Suns. We're talking about a Hall of Famer. Heck, every pro athlete deserves to be treated like a human being and told when they're getting traded, but particularly CP3!

I hope this results in him going to a place where he can finally win that elusive ring. Because what he went through the past 72 hours? Not OK.
