Tiger Woods' niece rallies to secure LPGA Tour card

Cheyenne Woods fared a little better than her famous uncle this week.

Woods, the niece of former world No. 1 Tiger Woods, shot a final-round 70 Sunday on the Hills Course at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla., to secure full playing privileges on the LPGA Tour in 2015.

Woods fired rounds of 68-79-67-71-70 at LPGA Qualifying School and finished in a tie for 11th at 5-under-par 355. The top 20 players earned cards.

The Q School was played on two courses – the Jones and Hills, the much tougher of the two. Minjee Lee and Alison Lee finished at 10 under to share first place.

Meanwhile, Uncle Tiger finished in last place in the Hero World Challenge at Isleworth Golf and Country Club in Orlando in his first competitive tournament in four months.

"It's pretty exciting," Tiger Woods said. "She worked her tail off to get there, traveling all over the world, playing where she could. She earned that card."

Cheyenne Woods charged up the leaderboard after starting the day tied for 32nd. She made a big birdie putt from 15 on the 16th hole and a three-footer on the last to give her breathing room.

"My putting all week has been pretty solid," Cheyenne Woods told reporters. "Today was a grind. Conditions were a lot tougher than earlier this week. The wind picked up, it was a little cooler. This course played a lot different."

Woods played a lot different after her second round 79.

"I just tried to forget it," Woods said. "I just had to remember how I'm capable of playing. … I feel good about how I played today. Four of the five days I got everything out of my game. Despite the second round, I felt good about this week. … I didn't feel a lot of pressure today. I felt calm. I knew what I had to do today. … I had a lot of big moments I'm thankful for."
