Rory McIlroy in featured group for PGA coverage

LAKE FOREST, Ill. — Jason Day will resume his first round of the BMW Championship at Conway Farms Golf Club Friday at 8:30 a.m. ET with a chance to shoot 59.

And you can see it exclusively at PGA Tour Live.

Day was 10 under par when the siren sounded Thursday because of inclement weather. He had just hit his drive on his final hole — the par-4 9th — and is 44 yards short of the hole in the rough. If he holes out, he will shoot a 12-under-par 59. He leads Daniel Berger by five shots. Jordan Spieth has to finish play on the same hole and he’s at 5 under.

Coverage begins at 8:30 a.m. at pgatourlive.com, a subscription-based outlet for exclusive coverage. The bonus coverage proceeds PGA Tour Live’s coverage of the second round.

Because tee times have been moved up with the threat of more bad weather hitting the Chicago area Friday afternoon, the marquee group of world No. 1 Rory McIlroy, Hideki Matsuyama and Brandt Snedeker will tee off at 10:33 a.m. McIlroy is 3 under through 12 holes, Matsuyama is 2 over and Snedeker is 2 under.

The other marquee groups features Henrik Stenson, who finished runner-up in both of the first two playoff events, Bubba Watson and Charley Hoffman. Stenson is 1 over through 13 holes, Watson is 4 under and Hoffman is even.
