Lil Wayne pays respects to Tom Watson on Twitter

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Tom Watson, an eight-time major champion and two-time winner of the Masters Tournament, has only posted 170 tweets on his official account (@TomWatsonPGA). The 66-year-old’s most-recent 140-character-or-less message came Saturday. Of course, it was directed at rap star Lil Wayne (@LilTunechi).

Watson completed his 43rd and final Masters on Friday at Augusta National Golf Club.

After the round, Wayne tagged Watson in a tweet.

Obviously, the former U.S. Ryder Cup captain checked his mentions Saturday.

Lil’ Wayne has 26 million Twitter followers. Watson, with 86,000, has some catching up to do, although he certainly earned a few more Saturday night.
