Tiger Tracker: Follow Woods' final round at Hero World Challenge


Through three rounds at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, Tiger Woods has given every indication that as long as his back holds up, he’ll be one tough customer to deal with in 2017.

In an opening-round 73 and then during the stunning 65 he shot in round 2, Woods looked strong, his speed impressive and his short game in order.

Woods has 18 holes to go. Follow along:

 

Front nine

Hole 1: Par 4

  • Par: After a terrific opening drive down the middle of the fairway, Woods, wearing his signature Sunday red, reaches the green for a long birdie attempt that just misses. He settles for par. 

Hole 2: Par 3​

  • Par: He finds the edge of the primary rough and on his second shot, turns his putter sideways to set up a short par putt. 

Hole 3: Par 5

  • Par: This time his tee shot finds the sandy area. He has another long shot at birdie but his putt comes up inches short. He settles for par again. He's eight-under for the tournament and even for the round.

Hole 4: Par 4

  • Par: A good drive with a second shot that reaches the green. A putt from about 15 feet with a slight downhill for birdie misses left.  

Hole 5: Par 3

  • Bogey: Woods hits it into the front bunker and misses another putt for par. First bogey of the day. He's now seven-under for the tournament.

​​Hole 6: Par 5

  • Double bogey: After hitting a solid drive, his second shot finds the sandy waste area. His third shot takes a bad break, leaving him on the 13th green (No. 6 and 13 share a green). His chip for par rolls well past and he double bogeys the hole. He's +3 for the day.

Hole 7: Par 4

  • Birdie: His drive ends up in the front bunker. Woods hits it to within about 20 feet of the hole and makes his first birdie putt of the day. 

​​​Hole 8: Par 3​

  • Birdie: Woods hits the green and sinks a birdie putt from about 30 feet. Back-to-back birdies and seven-under for the tournament (one-over for the round).

Hole 9: Par 5​​

  • Birdie: Has a solid drive but his second shot takes a bad break and rolls off the green. His third shot is a long putt uphill to within about a foot of the hole. Taps in for his third straight birdie and is back to even through nine holes.

Back nine

Hole 10: Par 4

  • Bogey: Drives it down the right side and his second shot bounces into the rough. He chips it over the green and it rolls into the back fringe. Woods misses a 10-foot putt and settles for bogey. 

Hole 11: Par 5

  • Double bogey: He ends up in the bunker and his third shot goes right into the clumpy Bermuda rough on a downward slope. He chips it over the green and misses a shot from about 10 feet for bogey. He's three-over for the day.

​​Hole 12: Par 3

  • Bogey: His tee shot goes into the rough, and the putting fails him again. Misses putt for par from four feet.

Hole 13: Par 4

  • Par: Drives it down the fairway and his approach gets him to about 30 feet. Makes par putt to stop the bleeding for now.

Hole 14: Par 4

  • Birdie: His drive nearly reaches the green. Woods' chip gets to within a few feet of the hole and he makes his fourth birdie of the day. With four holes left, Woods is five-under for the tournament.

Hole 15: Par 5

  • Birdie: Drives it down the fairway and puts his second shot into greenside bunker. Hits it within four feet and drains birdie putt. He's two-over for the round, six-under for the tournament.  

Hole 16: Par 4

  • Par: Tee shot in the fairway and with 204 to go, his approach shot is left of the hole. Two-putts for par.

Hole 17: Par 3

  • Par: Great drive leaves him about 10 feet from the hole. He misses birdie putt.

Hole 18: Par 4

  • Double bogey: Tee shot lands in a bush in the sandy area, where he takes an unplayable.  On his third shot, he wedges it long. He ends up with a six.
  • For the day, he's four-over 76. For the tournament, he finishes four-under.
