Tiger Woods is into the top 50 in the world rankings for the first time in more than three years.
Woods moved to 50th in the rankings after finishing in a tie for sixth in the British Open. He started the year at No. 649 after the Hero World Challenge and was No. 71 going into the Open.
Getting in the top 50 qualifies him for the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational in two weeks at Firestone Country Club in Akron, where he’s won a record eight times. The week after he’ll play the PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club west of St. Louis.
