What started as a big week for Tiger Woods just got a little more interesting.

Woods, after being named as a captain's pick by Jim Furyk for the U.S. Ryder Cup team earlier this week, came out on fire Thursday at the BMW Championship. Woods shot an 8-under 62 and was tied for the lead with Rory McIlroy.

With storms expected to hit the area on Friday afternoon, tee times were moved up several hours.

Woods entered the week ranked 25th in the FedExCup standings and needs a strong week to remain inside the top 30 to qualify for the Tour Championship in two weeks, the PGA Tour season's final event. But Thursday's hot start put him in a great position to do just that.

Now the question becomes: can he win his first PGA Tour event since 2013? Relive every hole of Tiger's second round right here to see how he followed up his first-round masterpiece.

HOLE 18: Par 4

The putter woes continue to the final shot. Tiger blasted a 290-yard drive down the right side of the fairway, leaving him 174 yards to the pin. His approach wasn't great, settling on the green but over 45 feet from the cup. From there, it took three puts to get in. Tiger left his first putt over 5 feet short, then missed the par putt and had to make a testy 3½-footer for his bogey. He finishes the day with two straight bogeys -- and an ever par day. He's 8 under for the tournament and currently in a tie for 10th place.

HOLE 17: Par 3

Tiger attempted to draw his tee shot on the par-3 17th from the right, but he didn't turn it quite enough and he found the greenside bunker. From there, he picked his bunker shot out nicely and it nestled just over 7 feet from the pin. His par putt, however, lips out on the left edge and he's forced to settle for his second bogey of the day. He's now 1 under on the day and 9 under overall.

HOLE 16: Par 5

Tiger blasted his driver 310 yards right down the middle of the fairway ... but it rolls right into a divot. And the divot was angled 45 degrees from the green for some reason, but no matter. Tiger takes out a wood and drills a cut shot right into the middle of the green from 250 yards out. From there, his eagle putt slid just past the hole and he drops a 2-foot putt for a birdie. That's his third birdie of the day and puts him at 2 under on the day and 10 under overall. He's three shots back of leader Xander Schauffele, who sits at 13-under par.

HOLE 15: Par 4

Tiger tried to bomb his driver on the 15th but pulled it a bit left and found the rough. Deep rough. He left his second shot well short of the green (75 yards) which put him in a precarious position to get up and down for par. But as Tiger does, he stuck his pitch shot to 8 inches from the cup for your run-of-the-mill par. Or something like that. Either way, he's still 1 under on the day, 9 under overall.

HOLE 14: Par 3

On this par 3 of over 200 yards, Tiger's tee shot reaches the green but not in the right spot. He sits 29 feet from the pin and his putt over a ridge *just* missed off the left edge. The speed was good, however, so he easily taps it in for another par. He's still 1 under on the day and 9 under overall.

HOLE 13: Par 4

Tiger pulls out the stinger with an iron off the tee and hits it 230 right down the middle. His approach to the green just missed the slope he was hoping would push the ball toward the cup and instead leaves it about 30 feet from the cup. His downhill putt from there comes up just short -- and he taps in for an easy par. Still 1 under on the day and 9 under overall.

HOLE 12: Par 4

With a 3-wood, Tiger goes about 300 yards right down the center of the fairway. He's really hitting the ball well off the tee today. Excellent approach shot goes right at the flag, finishing about 14 feet from the hole – Tiger is dialed in. Putt is *just* off, drifting a little to the right and Woods settles for par. Still 1 under on the day and 9 under overall.

HOLE 11: Par 4

Terrific shot with the driver, right down the center of the fairway. He's hit 7 of 9 fairways so far today. The approach shot is a beauty, landing 10 feet beyond the hole but spins backwards, ending up about two feet from the hole. Woods taps in for birdie and he's 1 under on the day, 9 under overall

HOLE 10: Par 4

Woods starts the back nine with a poor tee shot off to the right into the rough. It bounces off some trees, but forward so he's not going to be blocked out. Tiger recovers with a 9-iron on the approach and gets it onto the front of the green, now facing a tough two-putt. He does well with the first putt, getting it to about 18 inches from the hole, before tapping in for par. Even through 10, 8 under and tied for third overall.

HOLE 9: Par 5

This hole is 605 yards and Woods covers about half of that with the driver to the left side of the fairway. Tiger uses a 3-wood for the approach shot and it's a good one, about 15 yards short of the green. A low pitch lands about 20 feet below the hole, but has some spin to get two feet from the cup. That was beautiful. Woods taps in for birdie and he's back to even on the day, 8 under for the tournament.

HOLE 8: Par 3

Woods goes with the 7-iron on the 199-yard hole, barely reaching the front of the green. Pin is on the back left, about 45 yards from where his tee shot ended up. His putt finds some great speed, but misses left by about six inches. He taps in for par but that was a great save after a lackluster tee shot. Still +1 on the day, 7 under overall.

HOLE 7: Par 4

Tiger goes with a the 3-wood and knocks it 293 yards, staying on the fairway. About 100 yards from the hole, Woods hits a nice approach shot onto the green, finishing 20 yards short of the hole. Tiger's putt goes about two feet to the right of the hole and then he taps in for par, but a birdie opportunity squandered. His putting is a bit off today. Stays +1 for the day, 7 under for the tourney.

HOLE 6: Par 4

Tiger once again blasts a driver down the middle of the fairway, this one traveling 281 yards. From 130 yards out, he sticks a low approach to *just* outside 15 feet, but once again the good 'ol Scotty Cameron putter disappoints, sliding the birdie attempt just outside the right edge. He taps in again for par. Still +1 on the day, 7 under for the tournament.

HOLE 5: Par 3

The first hiccup for Tiger Woods comes on the fifth hole. His tee shot to the short par 3 came up well short and in the front bunker. He nearly holed the bunker shot but it slid over four feet past the cup. And Tiger then lipped out the four-footer for par, tapping in for his first bogey of the day. He's now +1 on the day and 7 under for the tournament, four shots off the lead.

HOLE 4: Par 4

Tiger's driver is back in action, this one blistered 313 yards right down the fairway. That left him just over 150 yards to the pin and he stuck his approach shot to 18 feet. But like the first three holes, the birdie attempt slid just past the hole. Yet another tap-in for par. Where his putter was magical in the first round, it hasn't kicked into gear yet on Friday. He's still even on the day, 8 under for the tournament.

HOLE 3: Par 4

Tiger got the driver back in the fairway on No. 3, driving it 300 yards on the dot. That left him 146 yards to the hole and he hit his approach to the middle of the green, 20 feet from the cup. Looked like he misread the putt a bit and it slid past the right side of the cup and he again taps in for par. Nothing exciting so far for Woods, but nothing detrimental either. Still at even for the round and 8 under overall. Currently in a tie for third with Justin Thomas, behind Rory McIlory and leader Xander Schauffele.

HOLE 2: Par 4

Tiger's drive on the second was a bit wayward, finding a fairway bunker and leaving him just under 100 yards to the hole. His bunker shot from there came up just short of the green, but Woods putted the ball from that position and nearly holed it out for a birdie. Instead he'll settle for a tap-in and his second consecutive par to start his round. (Even on the day, 8 under overall)

HOLE 1: Par 4

Tiger blasted his opening drive of the day down the right side of the fairway, leaving himself with just over 130 yards to the flag. His approach came up a bit short and left him over 37 feet for birdie. His birdie attempt missed and left him 6 feet for his par, which he drained with confidence to tally a par (4) on the first hole. He remains at 8-under par overall, two shots behind leader Xander Schauffele.
