US Open 2025 tee times, groups, schedule, golfers to watch in Rounds 1 and 2
The 125th U.S. Open is returning to the familiar confines of Oakmont Country Club in 2025, the venue that has hosted the golf major more than any in the tournament's history. The best from the PGA Tour and LIV Golf are back together in the same event, with a refreshing dose of amateurs and unknowns joining the mix for the sport's third major thanks to the open qualifying format.
The dynamic has set up an intriguing mix of featured groups for the opening two rounds. It should set up well for plenty of drama this week when the world's top golfers navigate the difficult conditions and terrain that are a trademark of the U.S. Open.
The action will start early on Thursday, with the first tee time of the tournament at 6:45 a.m. ET and a group with defending U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, Xander Schauffele and 2024 U.S. Amateur champion Jose Luis Ballester off before 7:30 a.m. Masters champion Rory McIlroy will follow soon thereafter in another marquee morning group with his friend and fellow Irishman, Shane Lowry, and longtime Ryder Cup teammate Justin Rose.
The afternoon tee times on Thursday feature back-to-back groups full of former major winners. Jordan Spieth, Jon Rahm and Dustin Johnson, who won the U.S. Open in 2016 when it was last held at Oakmont, will tee off at 1:14 p.m. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who has never won the U.S. Open before, will start off right behind them with Collin Morikawa and Viktor Hovland.
Tee times for Friday's second round will be reversed, with morning groups from Thursday beginning in the afternoon and Thursday's afternoon groups teeing off in the morning. The 156-golfer field will tee off from both the No. 1 and No. 10 holes at Oakmont during the first and second round.

Where to watch US Open 2025: TV and live streaming schedule
The 2025 U.S. Open will be broadcast by NBC and USA Network throughout all four rounds, with USA Network the sole home for first-round action on Thursday, June 12 and NBC and USA Network splitting coverage for the second, third and final rounds. All four rounds of the U.S. Open will be live streamed on Peacock, usopen.com, the USGA app and Fubo. Peacock will also broadcast U.S. Open All-Access, its whiparound-style offering, on all four days.
