2025 US Open predictions: AI picks for best bets at Oakmont

The 125th U.S. Open is almost here and the 2025 field is loaded with the world's best golfers attempting to navigate the heavy rough and quick greens at Oakmont Country Club, which has hosted the U.S. Open more than any venue.
The predictions and picks are rolling in and Scottie Scheffler is the heavy favorite seeking his first U.S. Open trophy. Bryson DeChambeau, meanwhile, will try to defend his U.S. Open title and become the third golfer in more than 70 years to repeat as champion. Masters winner Rory McIlroy and two-time major champion Xander Schauffele are also among the top contenders when tournament play begins with first-round action on Thursday.
Artificial intelligence also seems to like the big names. Ahead of the 2025 U.S. Open, Paste BN Sports asked Microsoft Copilot AI for its best bets for the third major of the year and it produced six choices based on current form, course fit and value. Many align with how oddsmakers have pegged the tournament ahead of Thursday's first round tee times. But AI did pick at least one longshot perhaps worth monitoring.
Here's a breakdown of the 2025 U.S. Open best bets as determined by Microsoft Copilot AI, as well as how to watch the best golfers go after another major at Oakmont this week.
