Scottie Scheffler forgot part of his job at 2025 Masters Champions Dinner

As the defending Masters champion – and a two-time winner at Augusta National – Scottie Scheffler certainly understood the assignment of hosting the annual champions dinner.
His menu offerings from two years ago were such a hit that he mostly served the same things on Tuesday night. (The main difference between the two was subbing in spicy Texas chili for tortilla soup as the first course.)
However, Scheffler did whiff on another of his responsibilities, forgetting that he also had to give a short speech before dinner.
"I was like, oh my gosh, I've gotta say some words," Scheffler recounted Wednesday morning. So he decided to just wing it.
"One of the things that was important to me," he said, "I wanted to thank the older guys that were playing in the tournament for their contributions to not only to Augusta National and the Masters tournament, but to the game of golf as well."
Scheffler said he "made the mistake of making eye contact with too many people," but he made it through.
Scheffler, the No. 1 ranked player in the world, is the betting favorite to win the Masters again this year.
He's currently +450 to claim the green jacket, according to BetMGM, with World No. 2 Rory McIlroy right behind at +650. Collin Morikawa and Jon Rahm are next at +1400.
