But he'll have to make a charge up the Sunday leaderboard to accomplish the feat after Rory McIlroy grabbed control of the lead on Saturday.
Scheffler, the world's No. 1 golfer, remains within striking distance of the lead after third-round action at Augusta National Golf Club and remains among the challengers when golf's first major of the year is decided in Sunday's final round. He's been steady through the first three days of tournament play, hovering around the top 10 of the leaderboard after posting a first-round score of 4-under 68.
He'll likely need to get it going more than that if he's to emerge with another Masters win, but the 28-year-old has proven in the past he's capable of some Sunday fireworks.
