The first 16 players on every team’s World Cup of Hockey roster will be announced today. The Russia and Finland selections have already been revealed. The Czech Republic will unveil at 11 a.m., ET, followed by Sweden (1:15), Team Europe (4:30), North American 23-and-under, Canada (6:05) and USA (6:45):
Here is Paste BN'S roster projections, with early selections marked with an asterisk, for Canada:

Jamie Benn* Ryan Getzlaf* Corey Perry*
Matt Duchene Jonathan Toews* Patrice Bergeron*
Ryan O’ Reilly John Tavares* Steven Stamkos*
Taylor Hall
Defense
Duncan Keith* Shea Weber*
Marc-Edouard Vlasic* Drew Doughty*

Goalies
Carey Price*, Braden Holtby*, Roberto Luongo*
In the mix: Alex Pietrangelo, T.J. Brodie, Claude Giroux, Brad Marchand, Rick Nash, Corey Crawford and Kris Letang.
Keep in mind: Canada is so deep at center that some will have to switch positions. Too many of Canada’s top defensemen are right-shots. It’s hard to believe there is not room for Pietrangelo. But Burns’ size and big shot on the power play are alluring qualities.
