Horse racing's most decorated and highly anticipated event has arrived, Welcome to the Kentucky Derby.

Celebrating its 151st run at Churchill Downs on Saturday, the 2025 edition of the Run for the Roses will take place at 7:02 p.m. ET in Louisville, Kentucky.

Saturday's race, which now consists of 19 different 3-year-old horses, also serves as the start of the Triple Crown season, one of horse racing's hardest feats. Bob Baffert-trained Rodriguez and Grande were scratched from the race on Thursday and Friday, respectively, with injuries.

Potential favorites to watch for on Saturday in the Kentucky Derby include Journalism, Sovereignty and Sandman. Former MLB outfielder Jayson Werth's horse, Flying Mohawk, enters Saturday's race as a long shot at 30-1 odds and placed in the No. 11 post.

Journalism is unbeaten in five career races with four-straight wins, and is one of the likely candidates for the Triple Crown race, which hasn't been completed since Justify in 2018.
