2025 Preakness Stakes: Post positions for the nine-horse field
The 2025 Preakness Stakes is just a few days away. Although Kentucky Derby winner Sovereignty will not be among the contenders, there are still nine impressive horses set to compete in this second leg of the Triple Crown.
The Santa Anita Derby winner and Kentucky Derby runner-up, Journalism, enters the race as the early favorite in the absence of Sovereignty. In just his fourth career start, Clever Again comes in as a second favorite.
The field includes Goal Oriented, trained by Bob Baffert, and Arkansas Derby winner Sandman, among others. Here are the contenders for the historic 150th Preakness Stakes, a milestone in the history of horse racing.
