Royals bring up pitcher Aaron Brooks from Triple-A
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Royals purchased the contract of right-handed pitcher Aaron Brooks from Triple-A Omaha on Saturday.
Brooks, who was a non-roster invitee to spring training, was 7-7 with a 4.17 ERA last season for Double-A Northwest Arkansas. He has never appeared in a major league game.
Infielder Pedro Ciriaco, who has a career .277 average in 164 games in the majors with the Royals, San Diego, Boston and Pittsburgh, was designated for assignment to make roster space for Brooks.
