Barry Bonds spends time with Little League World Series team
SAN FRANCISCO - It's tough for Barry Bonds to duck a crowd when he's hobbling around on a surgically repaired left hip.
Bonds watched a portion of Saturday night's Game 4 of the World Series with the Jackie Robinson West Little League team from Chicago, which won the U.S. championship at the Little League World Series and received a visit from President Obama. As he exited a suite at AT&T Park, Bonds was mobbed by onlookers and friends alike, trading man-hugs with Sean Casey and Kevin Millar, former big leaguers who now work for the MLB Network.
While Bonds looked a bit wary of the throng - "Getting through on a bad leg," he said - he moved without the aid of a cane, which he used to throw out the first pitch at a recent Giants playoff game.
Presumably, he'll be back on his bike in no time.
