Today: Samardzija sees A's, Fister goes the distance
A look at the highlights of what's happening all around spring training in Florida and Arizona on Sunday:
***
REMEMBER ME?
White Sox newcomer Jeff Samardzija gets to see some familiar faces when he starts against Oakland in Mesa, Arizona. He finished last year as a rent-an-ace with the A's after they got him a trade-deadline deal from the Cubs.

GOING THE DISTANCE
Nationals right-hander Doug Fister is going quite a way to make his exhibition debut, pitching against the Yankees. It's about a three-hour drive from Washington's camp in Viera, Florida, across the state to the Yanks' ballpark in Tampa.
***
DIFFERENT COLORS
Brandon McCarthy starts out with a new team once again when he pitches for the Los Angeles Dodgers against Milwaukee. He began poorly with Arizona last season, then went to the Yankees and pitched well.

PITCHING IN
Cardinals right-handers Adam Wainwright and John Lackey are both expected to throw live bullpen sessions. Wainwright is recovering from an abdominal injury, and Lackey is taking a slower approach to getting ready this spring.
