Mets' Daniel Murphy homers in MLB-record sixth straight postseason game

Daniel Murphy now stands alone in postseason home run lore.

The New York Mets second baseman homered for the sixth consecutive game - breaking a record he shared with Carlos Beltran - in the eighth inning of the New York Mets' Game 4 National League Championship Series romp against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Murphy homered to straightaway center field off Cubs reliever Fernando Rodney, perhaps the least-decorated pitcher Murphy has touched up this postseason. Prior home run victims include the presumed top three finishes in NL Cy Young voting - Dodgers starters Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke and Cubs starter Jake Arrieta.
