Braves trade Shelby Miller to Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks have added Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Shelby Miller to an increasingly formidable rotation that includes Zack Greinke and Patrick Corbin.

In return, the Braves get outfielder Ender Inciarte, minor league pitcher Aaron Blair and shortstop Dansby Swanson, the No. 1 overall draft pick last season.

“This was another trade that will brighten our future and give us impact-type players not only tomorrow, but right now,” Braves president of baseball operations John Hart said. “We feel each of the guys we got back has impact-level talent along with a tremendous make-up. While it was tough to trade Shelby Miller, a guy we loved who did a great job for us, our entire staff did a fantastic job bringing together a deal that helps us today and in the future.”

Miller, 25, had a 3.02 ERA in 2015, his first season with Atlanta after starting his career with the St. Louis Cardinals.
