Fan charged in beer-throwing incident no longer working for media company

The Toronto Blue Jays fan who was charged after he allegedly threw a beer can at a Baltimore Orioles outfielder in the AL wild-card game has left his job as a copy editor at major Canadian media news outlet.
“Ken Pagan has left Postmedia,” spokesperson Georgia Sourtzis said in an email to Paste BN Sports on Monday.
Sourtzis declined to specify why Pagan was no longer with the company.
“We don’t discuss employee details externally,” Sourtzis said.
The Globe and Mail was the first to report that Pagan was no longer at Postmedia, which publishes National Post, Toronto Sun and several other newspapers.
Pagan, 41, surrendered to Toronto police earlier this month after authorities identified him in a photo as the person who allegedly threw a beer that narrowly missed hitting Orioles outfielder Hyun Soo Kim on Oct. 4. Pagan was charged with a single count of mischief and surrendered to police two days later.
Pagan was released a couple hours after he was booked and is scheduled to be in court on Nov. 24. He was ordered not to attend games at Rogers Centre or consume alcohol.
The Blue Jays issued an apology and changed how they serve beer at their games. Beers are now poured into plastic cups before they are handed to fans.
