The Boston Red Sox announced Thursday that the team will be retiring David Ortiz's No. 34 on June 23.

Ortiz spent 14 years with the Red Sox, hitting 483 of his 541 career home runs with the club and retired after the 2016 season.

Ortiz won three World Series titles with Boston, in 2004, 2007 and 2013.

Known for his postseason heroics, "Big Papi" had two-walk off hits in Boston's historic comeback against the Yankees in the 2004 American League Championship Series. His 17 career postseason home runs rank seventh all-time and his 61 RBI rank fourth.

Ortiz will be the 10th Red Sox player to have his number retired by the club. Boston officially retired Wade Boggs' No. 26 last season and Pedro Martinez's No. 45 in 2015.
