New York Mets right-hander Noah Syndergaard made his first start of spring training on Friday, pitching two scoreless innings against the Houston Astros.

After his outing, Syndergaard was asked if he regrets passing on the opportunity to pitch for the United States in the upcoming World Baseball Classic.

“Nope, not one bit,” the 24-year-old said.

"I’m a Met. And ain’t nobody made it to the Hall of Fame or win a World Series playing in the WBC.”

Syndergaard had a 2.60 ERA with 218 strikeouts in 183 2/3 innings in 2016.

The United States' rotation features Toronto's Marcus Stroman, Tampa Bay's Chris Archer, Kansas City's Danny Duffy and Washington's Tanner Roark. The tournament begins Monday with pool play in Korea, and the United States plays its first game Friday, March 10 against Colombia.
