White Sox starting an all-Garcia outfield against the Twins

The Chicago White Sox will make history Friday night against the Minnesota Twins when the first pitch is thrown.

For the first time in major league history, a team will start all three outfielders with the same last name -- Garcia -- Avisail in right, Leury in center, and Willy in left -- according to Elias Sports Bureau.

The Garcia's are unrelated. And yes, exact spelling of the last name is applied.

With Melky Cabrera placed on the paternity list, the White Sox called up Willy Garcia from Class AAA Charlotte to fill in and make his major-league debut.

Brothers Felipe, Jesus and Matty Alou played in the same game three different games with San Francisco Giants in September 1963. But, while they did play in the outfield at the same time late in the game in each of those three contests, they all did not start.
