Orioles pull off oddest triple play on Red Sox

BOSTON — The Baltimore Orioles pulled off one of the strangest triples plays anyone had ever seen in Tuesday night's game on a simple botched catch.
Boston Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr hit a routine pop-up to short left field that he thought would be caught. Or maybe he figured the infield-fly rule was called.
Mitch Moreland froze at second base.
And Dustin Pedroia did likewise on first.
Only for the ball to drop between shortstop J.J. Hardy and left fielder Trey Mancini.
Hardy picked up the ball who threw to second baseman Jonathan Schoop. He tagged Moreland for one out. Touched the base to force out Pedroia. And threw to first base, with Bradley having already retreated to the dugout.
6-4-3.
Triple play.
