Keep up with all the action from the 2017 Home Run Derby at Marlins Park in Miami:

Finals

Aaron Judge (11 HR) defeats Miguel Sano (10 HR)

  • Sano – 10 HR – longest 449 feet: Sano looked out of gas early, but rallied in the final minute to finish with a strong total.
  • Judge – 11 HR – Judge homered on his first three swings and never looked back, hitting the winner with 1:58 left on the clock. Judge is the fourth Yankee to win the Home Run Derby, joining Tino Martinez (1997), Jason Giambi (2002) and Robinson Cano (2011).

Semifinals

Aaron Judge (13 HR) defeats Cody Bellinger (12 HR)

  • Bellinger – 12 HR – longest 433 feet: Bellinger put in a good performance in a battle of rookies, but could have really used bonus time to hit another one or two.
  • Judge – HR – longest 513 feet: Made it look way too easy, hitting his 13th homer with a minute left on the clock. His 513-foot blast is the longest of the night so far.

Miguel Sano (11 HR) defeats Gary Sanchez (10 HR)

  • Sanchez – 10 HR – longest 485 feet: Looked a little bit off after a big showing in the first round, but found a nice groove to finish in double-digits.
  • Sano – 11 HR – longest 491 feet: Hit his 11th homer to beat out Sanchez with 45 seconds to spare, earning himself a spot in the final.

First Round

No. 2 Aaron Judge (23 HR) defeats No. 7 Justin Bour (22 HR)

  • Bour – 22 HR – longest 464 feet: Bour sent the home crowd into a frenzy with a flurry of homers, putting major pressure on Judge.
  • Judge – 23 HR – longest 501 feet: Baseball's home run leader lived up to the hype, winning on a walk-off in bonus time. Judge pulled bombs to left and hit a staggering number the opposite way – his 501-foot blast was the longest in the first round.

No. 3 Cody Bellinger (15 HR) defeats No. 6 Charlie Blackmon (14 HR)

  • Blackmon – 14 HR – longest 434 feet: A very strong showing from the Rockies' leadoff hitter, knocking line drives over the right field wall.
  • Bellinger – 15 HR – longest 446 feet: The rookie slugger beat his NL West rival in walk-off fashion, with two homers in bonus time after finishing regulation with 13 homers.

No. 8 Gary Sanchez (17 HR) defeats No. 1 Giancarlo Stanton (16 HR)

  • Sanchez – 17 HR – longest 483 feet: Going before the reigning champion, Sanchez put on a show. He connected on some jaw-dropping bombs to left and center and hit the home run sculpture multiple times.
  • Stanton – 16 HR – longest 496 feet: In his home ballpark, Stanton hit 15 in regulation, but couldn't hit the two in bonus time to tie Sanchez and force a swing-off. Down goes the champ!

No. 5 Miguel Sano (11 HR) defeats No. 4 Mike Moustakas (10 HR)

  • Sano – 11 HR – longest 470 feet: As the contest's first hitter, the Twins' slugger took a minute to get heated up. He clearly wasn't on the same page as his pitcher, taking an unusually high number of pitches.
  • Moustakas – 10 HR – longest 442 feet: Moustakas pulled within one homer with about a minute left, but couldn't clear the wall the rest of the way.

Home Run Derby rules

Hitters will each have four minutes per round to hit as many home runs as possible. In the first round and semifinals, hitters get one 45-second timeout. In the finals, hitters get two timeouts – one for 45 seconds and another for 30 seconds.

Players can be awarded bonus time based on the length of their home runs. Two home runs of 440+ feet (as tracked by Statcast) will result in 30 extra seconds at the end of the four minutes.

Ties are broken with a 60-second swing-off. If a swing-off ends in a tie, the hitters will engage in three-swing swing-offs until there is a winner.
